My way into the art.

In my artblogg I talk about how art came to be a part of my life. It took, however, several years until I realized how big a part of my life it had become. In 1996 I read a book about Frida Kahlo and it made a huge impression on me. I started to paint. First on silk, but very soon I began to paint in oil. In 2005 I went to Edinburgh College of Art and took a painting class in summer school there and my life changed forever.  Thanks to the reception I got there and the people I met I very quickly realized that this was my true path. Gradually I painted more and more, but it wasn`t until 2011 that I truly understood  that I  had to change my life. I then got seriously ill.    

My working methode is to meditate before I start on a new painting. A colour appairs in my mind and I start with that. I cover the whole canvas or big parts with this colour. After I got cancer in 2020 I have started to paint with my fingers. It feels as if I have to get as close to the medium I work with,  as possible.   And I can feel shapes work their way up from the paint.  Some times it feels like I discover the lines that is already there.  I just have to search at the right spot.
